Then, a functioning Windows installer could be added to the Toontown Rewritten Lutris page./r/Games is for informative and interesting gaming content and discussions. I would even be happy with the aforementioned PyInstaller bug being fixed with a version bump. I have no problem running games in Wine, and Wine is also what Steam Proton depends on for many games. Especially with the Steam Deck right around the corner, whose OS is based on Arch btw, now would be a great time to get Linux support polished up. However, I'd like to know what the state of the official TTR launcher is. I can go into more detail on that if anyone is interested. I haven't tried these yet, though I did try running the Windows launcher in Wine and did get this working, though it required some extra workarounds due to a bug in PyInstaller 3.6, wine bug report. I'm aware that there are alternate launchers such as Shticker-Book-Rewritten, and I'm aware of the flatpak version of the official launcher as well. This is with launcher version 1.2.6.ĭoes the launcher currently work in other distros like Ubuntu? It's been at least a couple years since I last ran TTR on Linux, but it used to work fine on some Chromebooks I had running Ubuntu. I recently tried to install the game on my Linux PC (Arch btw), and ran into various issues the main show stopper being unable to download the game's updates ( Unable to obtain remote mirror list). This post is sort of an inquiry on the state of the official Linux launcher for TTR. Update: The TTR team has delivered on an official flatpak launcher! I tested it and it's working great for me.
